Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Lead Engineer for Data Center electrical in Memphis, TN. You will own the electrical architecture from the medium-voltage bus to the GPU rack, ensuring scalable, reliable power for AI compute and coordinating with the on-site team.

This role requires 10+ years of power design experience, a PE license preferred, and ability to travel up to 25%. You will collaborate with mechanical, cooling, and compute teams to meet demanding schedules while adhering to NFPA 70/70E and IEEE

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
10+ years of electrical power design experience in high-power, mission-critical systems.
Experience owning medium-voltage distribution architecture at 10 kV to 35 kV class.

Responsibilities

Own the electrical architecture from the medium-voltage bus to the GPU rack — topology, redundancy, and standards.
Set and defend the redundancy basis; analyze bus-fault, transformer-loss, and switchgear-loss contingencies.
Establish the campus electrical design standard: tagging, drawings, approved vendor list, grounding, and arc-flash boundaries.
Own interface with compute on rack density, power-capping strategies and utilization.
Coordinate with mechanical and cooling on CDU, sidecar, and pump electrical loads.
Lead design reviews with EPCs, OEMs, and owner's engineers; approve vendor drawings and FAT procedures.
Direct Design, Commissioning, R&D, BIM/Designer, and Protection & Controls engineers on the Data Center team.
Collaborate with Transmission & Distribution and Battery Storage leads to align on a single model of record.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, NESC, and IEEE standards, prioritizing safety and excellence.
