Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses. Based in Memphis, TN, you will lead a small on-site team to scale high-capacity power systems, coordinating with compute, mechanical, and control colleagues to ensure safety and reliability.

You will own medium-voltage distribution architecture, drive design reviews, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NESC/IEEE standards while traveling to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in EE/CE/physics or equivalent engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of electrical power design experience.
• Experience owning medium-voltage distribution architecture at 10 kV to 35 kV class.
• Professional Engineer license desired.
• 5+ years in mission-critical, hyperscale, or heavy industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture from the medium-voltage bus to the GPU rack - topology, redundancy, and standards.
• Set and defend the redundancy basis; prove split-feed and cross-feed schemes against contingencies.
• Establish campus electrical design standard: tagging, drawings, vendor list, insulation coordination, grounding, arc-flash.
• Interface with compute on rack density, power-capping, and utilization.
• Interface with mechanical and cooling on CDU, sidecar, and pump loads and their contribution to hall demand.
• Lead design reviews with EPCs, OEMs, and owner's engineers; approve drawings and FAT procedures.
• Direct Design, Commissioning, R&D, BIM/Designer, and Protection & Controls engineers on the Data Center team.
• Collaborate with Transmission & Distribution and Battery Storage leads to stay on one model of record.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70/70B/70E, NESC, and IEEE standards for safety and excellence.
