Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Project Manager for a data center project in Houston, TX. The role covers on-site technical and administrative management of E&I phases on large-scale industrial construction initiatives, leading an E&I team.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of large E&I project management experience, strong communication, and a proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors in fast-paced, mission-critical

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing large E&I construction projects.
• Proven track record in management of construction projects.
• Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, contracts, drawings, submittals, and project documentation, including maintaining accurate as-built drawings.
• Estimating experience is a plus.
• Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Self-motivated with skills to motivate others.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe project, completed in a timely manner.
• Review project proposal and pertinent documents with project team and Director of Operations.
• Review and approve subcontractor selections and invoicing.
• Manage project staff, including assigned support staff, superintendents, project general foreman, and assistants.
• Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority as part of the Company’s management philosophy.
• Ensure that management is accurately and fully informed of project costs as compared to budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports.
• Coordinate and provide direction for the budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions as they relate to the completion of the project.
• Review and approve subcontractor, vendor payment applications and miscellaneous invoices.
• Negotiate and manage change orders, contract modifications, and budget revisions.
• Ensure timely project completion through project scheduling, expediting of material deliveries and the management of material and document submittals/approvals.
• Oversee project closeout, including punch lists, turnover documentation, commissioning support, and final client acceptance.
• Lead project coordination meetings and provide regular updates to clients and executive leadership.
