Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician (Night Shift) in Sterling, VA. The role focuses on hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance of mission‑critical data center facilities to ensure high reliability and uptime.

You will monitor and troubleshoot power, cooling, and life-safety systems, work with diverse teams, and support on-site contractors. Travel between sites may occur; shifts can be up to 12 hours and include nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
