Job summary

Stream Data Centers in Elk Grove Village, IL, is seeking a Critical Engineering Technician for an overnight shift (6pm–6:30am). The role focuses on maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems in a high-risk critical environment, with on-call coverage and strict safety standards.

You will read blueprints, manage work orders in CMMS, supervise vendors, and ensure optimal data center uptime and PUE through proactive monitoring and data analysis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in critical environment operations, maintenance, and engineering supporting critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and cooling infrastructure, including CRAH/CRAC units and refrigerant cycles.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to critical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on critical equipment per SOPs and MOPs.
• Read blueprints and resolve equipment issues.
• Oversee safe operation and maintenance of critical systems and vendor work.
• Create and manage work orders in CMMS for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure all maintenance records are updated and stored properly.
