Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to support cost management services on a large-scale data center construction program. You will provide estimating, cost control, procurement, and commercial oversight from preconstruction through completion in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–5 years of cost management experience, preferably with large, complex projects and possibly RICS accreditation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role in construction.
• Experience supporting cost management on large, complex commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or technology-related construction projects.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is valuable.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Experience with estimating, cost planning, change management, and project controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advising client on strategies, vendor prequalification, bids, bid leveling, and final recommendations.
• Developing project estimates (construction, fees, direct costs) and reviewing junior members' estimates.
• Establishing cost reporting schedules and reviewing budgets and forecasts with the client.
• Overseeing cost control, evaluating change orders, and managing payment requisitions and disputes.
• Managing invoicing process and ensuring timely cashflow.
• Benchmarking performance against similar commissions and driving lessons learned.
• Conducting final accounting, post- contract audits and closeouts.
• Leading handover procedures and creating training materials.
