Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support a major multi-phase data center construction program. The role focuses on cost planning, reporting, change control, and commercial coordination across a fast-moving site.

You will work closely with client stakeholders and contractors to ensure strong cost governance, accurate financial controls, and adherence to project standards throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in QS, CM, Eng, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of cost management or quantity surveying experience.
• Experience on medium- to large-scale construction programs; mission-critical or industrial experience preferred.
• Progress toward professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, maintenance, and updating of cost plans, budgets, and estimates.
• Assist in monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and developing executive summaries.
• Gather, verify, and validate cost data from designers, contractors, and vendors.
• Maintain cost records, benchmarks, and databases for ongoing improvement.
• Support procurement activities, including quantity takeoffs, pricing reviews, and scope comparisons.
• Assist with final account preparation and commercial closeout.
• Manage day-to-day change-management processes: review, validate, track, and reconcile changes.
• Maintain cost-control logs, monitor commitments, and track variances.
• Support contingency management and cost-risk reviews.
• Coordinate cost information with scheduling and project controls teams for cost-schedule alignment.
• Participate in value-engineering and cost-optimization efforts.
• Monitor market conditions and provide updates to the team.
• Support client interface activities and ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Prepare commentary on contractor submissions and governance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to Business Management Systems.
• Provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
• Assist with forecasting and cost-to-complete reviews.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role.
