Job summary

Upchurch seeks a Controls – Mission Critical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot data center controls across BAS/BMS, EPMS, and DCIM-adjacent interfaces. You will work on control panels, sensors, and networking hardware in high-availability environments to support uptime and reliability.

The role emphasizes safety, procedure compliance, and change control, with progression through four levels as you gain independent PM, troubleshooting, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; controls, HVAC, electrical, or automation training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret controls drawings, points lists, and sequences.
• Willingness to travel and work in live critical environments.
• Knowledge of BAS/BMS, EPMS, DCIM concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center controls and automation systems.
• Operate BAS/BMS controllers, field panels, EPMS interfaces, and DCIM-adjacent points.
• Verify sensors, alarms, setpoints, and sequence-of-operations; document findings.
• Support startup, testing, turnover, and on-call rotations; follow MOPs/SOPs/EOPs.
