Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Controls – Mission Critical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot data center control systems across BAS/BMS platforms and EPMS interfaces. You will work in high-availability environments, ensuring uptime, reliability, and accurate documentation of trends and alarms.

Expected duties include preventive/corrective maintenance, point-to-point verification, and commissioning support, all while following safety and change-management standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical, vocational, controls, HVAC, electrical, or automation training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret: controls drawings, points lists, BAS/BMS graphics, alarm summaries, and sequences of operation.
• Willingness to travel to support the service region.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, maintenance windows, and on-call rotations.
• Preferred: OSHA 10/30; NFPA 70E awareness where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center controls and automation systems.
• Work with BAS/BMS controllers, EPMS, DCIM-adjacent points, and control panels.
• Verify sensor readings, sequence of operation, and alarm validation.
• Document readings, trends, and actions; follow MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Support startup, testing, turnover, and emergency response per SLA.
