Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Data Center Controls Engineer to lead controls design for hyperscaler projects, from new construction to upgrades, with emphasis on BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM systems. You will set design standards, oversee specs, and ensure project delivery meets sustainability and efficiency goals.

You will collaborate with Construction, Procurement, and Operations, review technical deliverables, and coordinate with IT for secure network integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college preferred, or equivalent work/military experience.
• 3+ years of experience in building design and construction, focusing on controls systems engineering for data centers.
• Experience with Tridium Niagara 4, including system design and integration of BMS/EPMS systems.
• Proficient in drafting and maintaining engineering standards for controls systems.
• Strong understanding of critical cooling infrastructure and power effects on cooling redundancy.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and maintain controls design standards for BAS, BMS, EPMS, and DCIM systems.
• Develop specifications, RFPs, and sequences of operation for control systems.
• Lead Tridium Niagara 4 standards across control projects for consistency.
• Validate consultant/contractor deliverables for adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure secure network connectivity for control systems.
• Support installation, commissioning, and MOP reviews with Construction/Procurement.
• Coordinate integration with customer DCIM platforms and on-site commissioning.
• Investigate energy modeling data to inform design and value engineering.
• Research emerging technologies to improve performance and sustainability.
