Job summary

Prime Data Centers seeks a Controls Engineer to lead controls design for a portfolio of datacenter projects, from new builds to upgrades. You will develop design standards, review P&ID, SOO, and submittals, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet performance and ROI targets.

Responsibilities include BOM reviews, RFP authoring, and ensuring BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM compliance, with emphasis on sustainable, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university preferred.
• 5 years of experience in mission critical and/or datacenter mechanical design and construction required; 7–10 years preferred.
• Understanding of critical cooling infrastructure within a datacenter and how power sources provide cooling redundancy.
• Proficient in Bluebeam, Teams, Excel, and Word; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, CFD, and energy calculations.

Responsibilities

• Support controls engineering design across a portfolio of datacenter projects, including new construction and retrofits.
• Review and update design standards, RFPs, and supplier submittals for controls (BAS/BMS/EPMS/DCIM).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Construction, Procurement, Operations, and other teams to balance cost with sustainability.
• Perform ROI, simple payback, and energy modeling analyses; support commissioning and field verifications.
