Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Frederick, MD seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to maintain BMS and EPMS, troubleshoot, and manage projects within the data center environment.

You will support lifecycle operations, develop project scopes, and oversee procurement and commissioning activities while collaborating with internal customers and stakeholders to meet performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of controls experience in critical environments (data centers, etc.).
• 4+ years of project or vendor management in construction/project execution.
• Experience with industrial controls and building management systems.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers with BMS/EPMS design, configuration, and operation.
• Provide technical support to operations during data center life cycle and track action items.
• Develop scope of work, schedule, budget, and LOE for BMS/EPMS projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects.
• Assist in procurement: RFQ/RFI reviews, vendor proposals, and PO issuance.
• Participate in AWS global on‑call for BMS/EPMS support and report status to stakeholders.
• Support commissioning activities for Controls projects in data centers.
• Review and iterate on SOO; provide design feedback.
• Develop and modify controls logic programming and GUIs.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
