Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Virginia’s Culpeper region seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to manage BMS and EPMS systems, troubleshoot, and drive projects across AWS data centers.

You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, refine control strategies, and ensure compliance with security requirements. You will work under TS/SCI eligibility constraints, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders, and supporting on-call and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work for construction and project execution
• 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, manufacturing, power, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or 10+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities

• Train and assist internal customers with BMS/EPMS systems
• Provide technical assistance during life cycle of the data center
• Develop project scope, schedule, budget and LOE for BMS/EPMS projects
• Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS/EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers
• Assist in procurement activities and vendor proposals
• Participate in AWS on-call schedule to provide BMS/EPMS support
• Attend meetings and report status to Controls management
• Review and troubleshoot control SOO and feedback to design team
• Develop and modify control logic programming and GUIs
• Oversee multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations
• Manage BMS/EPMS service contracts
• Frequent on-site visits to data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work
