Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a CSA Construction Technical Services Specialist Lead for our data center projects. Located at our Corpus Christi, TX site, you will provide leadership in resolving technical drawing and specification issues, liaise with home office engineering and client representatives, and support on-site interpretation of released documents.

You will manage construction document control, work with Design-Build contractors, and mentor the team to meet project objectives while navigating NCRs

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering or 15-20 years’ experience in construction management for heavy-industrial process facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• An understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training
• Effective oral and written communication
• Ability to read and understand Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering drawings

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; clarifying and, when required, expediting home office/responsible engineer(s) response to meet project needs in a timely manner
• Ensure liaising with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives
• Provide On-site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to the change management process within your technical expertise.
• Engage in the Permitting process and with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs),
• Work with Design-Build contractors once their efforts move to the field.
• Effectively communicate with subcontractors leading to receipt and management of all key drawings and documents in a revision-controlled manner.
• Lead the construction document management process,
• providing oversight and guidance through a construction document control lead,
• ensure effective communication with subcontractors leading to receipt and management of all key drawings and documents in a revision-controlled manner.
• Act as technically competent lead in response to contractor or other party request for specification deviation in work or work product, working within the project approved spec deviation process.
• Work with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve Nonconformities (NCRs)
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team toward meeting these objectives.
