Job summary

STO Building Group in Kansas City is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the day-to-day operation of a data center construction site, coordinating scheduling, production, and material procurement.

You will supervise craft labor, manage subcontractors, and partner with the Project Manager to monitor progress, safety, quality, and costs to deliver the project on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a construction-related field and at least five years of data center construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes and ability to read blueprints accurately.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the project site.
• Understanding of building codes and subcontractor scopes, and ability to manage schedule and resources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic Spanish preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to develop and monitor look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet the schedule.
• Ensure all parties are informed of construction issues and progress; meet with subs and clients regularly.
• Resolve labor and safety concerns with supervisory and labor representatives.
• Inspect work to ensure conformity with specifications and schedules.
• Prepare and adjust project management plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
