Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure project completion on time and within scope.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction, 5+ years of Data Center construction experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent plus 5+ years of Data Center construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the project site.
• Reads blueprints accurately and applies building codes/design requirements.
• Strong understanding of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic Spanish preferred.
• Strong administrative skills: progress tracking and coordination.
• Solid management skills to supervise subordinates and follow up on delegated tasks.
• Maintains integrity and adheres to ethics and policies.
• Excellent problem-solving: connects data to form solutions.
• Team player who helps coworkers, customers, subs, and others.
• Good interpersonal skills and tact.
• Organized, plans effectively, and manages multiple tasks.
• Professional appearance and conduct; self-starter with initiative.
• Proficient with office equipment and productivity software; CMiC knowledge preferred.
• Project experience with hospitals/medical facilities ($10 million plus).

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures and staffing for construction phases.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and use look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meeting prior to mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to fit schedules.
• Communicate construction issues and progress to all stakeholders.
• Resolve labor disputes with supervision and craft personnel.
• Consult with engineers and inspectors to resolve construction problems.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure conformity with specs and schedules.
• Manage project based on progress, materials, and costs; adjust schedules as needed.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize labor costs and assignments.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan.
• Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
