Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Data Center Superintendent to lead on-site construction and commissioning activities for mission-critical data center projects. You will supervise field operations, coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety programs, and manage schedules and budgets to ensure quality outcomes.

You will drive QA/QC, support commissioning, and maintain accurate daily reports while mentoring field personnel and ensuring compliance with NFPA/NEC/ASHRAE standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of construction experience with at least 5 years as a Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects; data center construction experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily field operations on data center construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and specialty vendors (electrical, mechanical, UPS, generators, cooling systems, fire protection, cabling) to maintain sequence and quality of work.
• Implement and enforce site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
• Drive project schedule management using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project; identify, elevate, and mitigate schedule risks to keep milestones on track.
• Oversee QA/QC activities; perform inspections, document non-conformances, and manage corrective action tracking.
• Support commissioning activities including pre-functional checks, integrated system testing, and turnover documentation; coordinate with commissioning agents and owners representatives.
• Manage field-level change orders, RFI responses, subcontractor performance, and daily reporting to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, site photographs, manpower and equipment records, and provide clear, timely communication to the project team and client.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE) and project-specific MOP and operation procedures.
• Mentor and lead field personnel, fostering a collaborative, productive, and safety-first work environment.

Position Overview

The Data Center Superintendent will lead on-site construction and commissioning activities for mission-critical data center projects. This role is responsible for day-to-day supervision of field operations, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality and technical standards. The Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors and trades, enforce construction and commissioning procedures, support project management in schedule and budget control, and act as the primary on-site technical resource for data center systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of construction experience with at least 5 years as a Superintendent on commercial or industrial projects; demonstrable data center construction experience required.
• Proven knowledge of data center systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, raised floors, structured cabling, and building automation/BMS.
• Strong construction management skills including scheduling, coordination of trades, QA/QC, commissioning support, and change management.
• Hands‑on experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; ability to develop and maintain look‑ahead schedules and resource‑loaded schedules (Primavera experience preferred).
• Working knowledge of architecture and architectural drawings is a plus; ability to read and coordinate MEP and architectural plans.
• OSHA 30 certification required; training or certification in construction safety and competence in site safety enforcement.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; Spanish language skills are a plus to support bilingual job sites and subcontractors.
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with construction documentation, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and commissioning documentation; familiarity with project controls and budgeting.
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to and between project sites as required.
• Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, or LEED (nice to have).
• Required skills: Data Center, Construction, Superintendent. Nice‑to‑have skills: Architecture, Architectural, Spanish, Primavera, Microsoft Project.
