Job summary

CyberCoders seeks an experienced General Superintendent to lead on-site construction for large-scale data center projects in the United States. You will coordinate MEP trades, ensure safety, manage field crews, subcontractors, and alignment with project management and commissioning teams to meet schedules and quality targets.

Travel to project sites is required, with extensive hands-on leadership, quality control and documentation to support handover and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience with at least 5 years in data center or other mission-critical facility construction as a superintendent or senior field leader.
  • Strong background in Mechanical/MEP systems with hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, chilled water systems, air handling (CRAH/CRAC), and electrical coordination for mission-critical environments.
  • Proven experience managing complex MEP scope, commissioning activities and coordinating multiple trades on fast-paced schedules.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising large field crews and multiple subcontractors; ability to mentor and develop junior superintendents.
  • Excellent understanding of construction plans, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with data center standards and best practices (Uptime Institute tiers, ASHRAE guidelines, NFPA), and strict experience managing uptime and redundancy requirements.
  • Strong commitment to safety with OSHA 30 (or equivalent) certification preferred; experience enforcing safety programs on active sites.
  • Effective communicator with client-facing experience and ability to work collaboratively with Project Management, commissioning teams and vendors.
  • Proficient with construction field software, scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office; ability to prepare concise daily reports and progress updates.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites; availability for extended onsite assignments as required.
  • Preferred: certifications in commissioning, PMP/CCM or technical training in HVAC controls, plus prior commercial construction experience in large-scale facilities.

  • Manage materials, equipment staging and site logistics to minimize delays and maintain clean, secure work areas in line with commercial and data center site standards.
  • Collaborate with commissioning agents, third-party inspectors and client representatives to ensure successful testing, handover and turnover activities.
  • Implement quality control procedures, conduct regular inspections, and ensure corrective actions are completed and documented.
  • Support cost control efforts by minimizing rework, monitoring productivity, and working with Project Management to address potential change orders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, safety records, timecards, and as-built notes required for closeout and client records.

Position Overview

Lead and oversee all on-site construction activities for large-scale data center projects.
