Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Development Project Manager (Data Center Construction MEPR) to lead design, preconstruction, and construction activities on assigned projects. You will coordinate daily with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, and Operations staff and ensure clear, proactive communication for successful project delivery.

You will manage scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk, while advancing master development plans, entitlements, and procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Five or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures, including Lump Sum, CM@Risk, and Design Build delivery methods.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint for executive updates, and Excel for budgets.
• Ability to travel as needed for the business.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple campus projects, maintaining budgets, schedules, and status reports.
• Prepare and present development program updates for executive reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create a master development program and budget.
• Manage entitlements and permitting for site projects.
• Implement phased site development plans to meet time, budget, and quality targets.
• Draft scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning, and procurement.
• Evaluate pricing proposals for design, construction, and commissioning services.
• Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with the procurement team.
• Ensure submittals are coordinated with site stakeholders.
• Monitor project budgets and cost-to-date against the budget.
• Establish schedules and lead teams to on-time completion.
• Review and approve monthly pay applications from contractors.
• Review change orders and negotiate pricing.
• Support due diligence for new sites as needed.
• Improve PM processes with the development team.
