Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Manager of Construction for Data Center Construction in Indiana (Hobart or New Carlisle). You will lead construction projects, manage budgets and schedules, and engage with Operations, Networking, and Security teams to deliver data centers that support customer needs.

The role emphasizes ownership of scope, timeline, and cost, along with collaboration across multiple internal teams and external contractors to ensure safety and efficiency in critical facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience.
• 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work related to construction and project execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in data center operations (feeders, transformers, generators, UPS, chillers, etc.)
• Experience managing high-performing technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Be Amazon’s construction representative on multiple data centers and capital improvement projects from start to hand-off.
• Interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch-list, and closeout phases.
• Create SOWs and RFPs; negotiate bids with contractors and evaluate proposals.
• Drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing contractors and vendors.
• Manage project documents, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoices, and schedules.
• Support commissioning, testing, and operations of installed facilities.
