Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to lead construction efforts for new data centers in Sterling, VA. You will partner with Operations, Networking, Controls and Security to deliver cost‑effective, energy‑efficient facilities managed by owner representation on site.

You will drive scope, quality, and schedule while coordinating with contractors and internal teams to ensure successful delivery of complex electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or 9 years CM experience.
• 6+ years of experience constructing and managing complex MEP systems in mission‑critical environments.
• 4+ years of experience managing general contractors, vendors, RFPs, bids, change orders, and QA/QC.
• Strong project management, cost, schedule, and quality control skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout.
• Conduct bid evaluations with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage projects to increase data center resiliency; review designs for constructability.
• Maintain construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and invoicing.
• Record and report key construction metrics to the team.
