Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Culpeper, VA is seeking a Construction Manager to own scope, schedule and budget for data center builds.

You will lead construction programs across multiple teams, coordinate with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and represent Amazon on site from start to hand-off to Operations.

The role requires expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, large-scale projects, and strong project controls focused on cost, schedule and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large-scale power distribution and cooling systems.
• Construction program management of large, complex projects involving large-scale MEP plants.
• Experience in project control (cost or schedule, or both) for infrastructure and mission-critical projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or 16+ years of related construction management experience in lieu.

Responsibilities

• Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or capital projects.
• Own construction project management and oversight of construction related activities.
• Work with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security to build Data Centers for customers.
• Represent Amazon’s owner’s representative on construction sites daily during interactions with trades.
• Drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction contractors and vendors.
• Create construction project scope and RFIs, manage bids and proposals.
• Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
• Support commissioning and integrated system testing and oversight.
