Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Construction Manager for Data Center Construction in the Fairfax, VA area. You will own construction scope, schedule, and budget with direct responsibility for vendors and contractors on new data center builds and upgrades.

You will interact with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams to deliver energy‑efficient, cost‑effective data centers while maintaining safety standards and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction projects.
• Lead construction project management for initiatives increasing data center resiliency.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Manage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders and invoicing.
• Oversee project quality control and report key construction metrics to teams.
