Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager in New York to serve as the on-the-ground liaison for its Public Policy team. The role focuses on building trusted relationships with local officials, community groups, and economic development partners from site selection through construction and long-term operations.

You will travel across New York and occasionally to other data center markets, shape engagement playbooks, and coordinate with policy, infrastructure, and communications teams to

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, or government relations.
• Direct engagement with local governments and community stakeholders on infrastructure projects.
• Ability to build trust across diverse groups and navigate difficult conversations.
• Strong public speaking and written communication.
• Based in New York or willing to relocate, with readiness to travel.

Responsabilités

• Build trusted relationships with elected officials and agencies in NY data center markets.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each market, from site selection to operations.
• Build external coalitions, host education and listening sessions, and design local solutions.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, hearings, events, and media.
• Monitor sentiment and advise on risks, opportunities and engagement pace.
• Partner with Real Estate and Infrastructure to incorporate community input into planning and delivery.
• Work with Communications to develop local messaging.
• Coordinate charitable giving and community investments in markets.
• Explain environmental stewardship and respond to power, water, and land use questions.
• Build a scalable community engagement playbook.
