Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to serve as the on-the-ground presence in Montana and Utah. The role sits within Public Policy and focuses on building trusted relationships with local officials, civic groups, and residents from site selection through long-term operations.

You will travel up to 50% to cultivate coalitions, surface concerns early, and help shape community-oriented project delivery, governance, and communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, local or state government, or a closely related field.
• Direct experience working for or engaging with county and municipal governments and a broad set of community stakeholders on infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects.
• Ability to represent a company credibly in public settings, including town halls, hearings, and press interviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex plans for officials and media.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted, sustained relationships with local officials, councils, and economic development partners in Montana and Utah.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for site selection, pre-development, construction, and operations.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, hearings, events, and local media.
• Monitor local sentiment and advise internal teams on risks, opportunities, and pacing of engagement.
• Coordinate charitable giving, community investment, and partnerships with nonprofits in your markets.
• Work with Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy, and Communications teams to integrate community input into plans and messaging.
• Travel regularly within Montana and Utah, up to 50% of the time, and occasionally to other markets.
