Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to build trusted relationships across Montana and Utah, serving as a local on-the-ground partner for our data center footprint. The role emphasizes collaboration with policy teams, local governments, tribal communities, and economic development partners, guiding site selection through ongoing operations.

You will travel up to 50% within MT/UT, help translate technical plans for local audiences, and help scale engagement playbooks as Anthropic

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, or a closely related field.
• Direct experience engaging with county/municipal governments and a broad set of community stakeholders on infrastructure, energy, or technology projects.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to earn trust with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to represent a company credibly in public settings, including town halls and hearings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, translating complex plans into plain language.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with county commissioners, mayors, councils, and state agencies across MT and UT.
• Engage with Tribal governments and Native communities, respecting sovereignty and partnership efforts.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each market from site selection to operations.
• Build coalitions, host sessions, and design local solutions delivering community benefits.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums, hearings, and local media.
