Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a CSA Construction Technical Services Specialist Lead for our Corpus Christi, TX project. You will lead technical interpretations of drawings, manage document control, and coordinate with home office engineering, AHJs, and field contractors to resolve issues and deviations.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and on-site technical support across heavy-industrial/data-center environments, with a hybrid work policy and open collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering or 15–20 years in construction management for heavy-industrial facilities.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand Civil/Structural/Architectural engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress issues related to drawings and specifications; expediting home office/responsible engineer responses.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and input to change management.
• Engage in the Permitting process with AHJs.
• Work with Design-Build contractors in the field.
• Lead the construction document management process and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Provide oversight through a construction document control lead.
• Ensure effective communication with subcontractors on revision-controlled drawings and documents.
• Lead response to specification deviations in work or products.
• Collaborate with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Provide leadership, mentorship to the team.
