Job summary

Modine is seeking a skilled Brazer to join the manufacturing team, producing high-quality chillers for data centers. The role requires brazing copper and other metals with precision in a fast-paced production setting.

Two shifts and a 5:00am–1:30am window are offered, with overtime on Fri & Sat and a pay range of $17.48–$20.57/hr. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, torch setup, joint inspection, and collaboration with welders and QC to ensure leak-proof joints and production

Qualifications

• 1+ years brazing/welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in using oxy-acetylene torches and brazing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and PPE usage.
• High school diploma or GED or 2-3 years manufacturing experience.
• Technical certification in welding or brazing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in chiller assemblies.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and drawings to ensure proper assembly.
• Set up and operate brazing torches to create strong, leak-proof joints.
• Inspect joints for quality and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with welders, assemblers, and QC to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols for torches, gases, and hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following 5S/lean practices.
• Report defects, shortages, or equipment issues to supervision.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance product quality.
