Job summary

Modine is seeking a skilled Brazer to join our Missouri manufacturing team. You will braze and join copper and other metals to produce reliable chillers for data centers, reading blueprints and adjusting torches to ensure leak-proof joints.

In a fast-paced environment, you will support 5S and lean principles, inspect workmanship, and collaborate with welders and QC to sustain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1+ years brazing/welding in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with oxy-acetylene torches and brazing tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, work instructions and safety rules.
• Strong attention to detail and quality checks.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-based setting.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and assume varied positions as needed.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and PPE usage.
• HS diploma or GED; technical brazing/welding certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metals for chiller assemblies.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and drawings to ensure correct assembly.
• Set up, adjust, and operate brazing torches and related equipment for strong joints.
• Inspect joints for quality assurance to meet standards.
• Work with welders, assemblers, and QC to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols for torches, gases, and hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean, 5S-compliant, lean work area.
• Identify defects, shortages, or equipment malfunctions and report.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance quality and processes.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Brazer to join our manufacturing team in producing high-quality chillers for data centers. The Brazer will be responsible for assembling and joining copper and other metal components using brazing techniques to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our cooling systems. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Shifts: 6:00AM-2:00PM, 2:00PM-10:00PM or 10:00PM-6:00AM
Base Pay: $27.28
Shift Differential (2nd & 3rd) - $5.00 (total of $32.28 per hour)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform brazing and soldering of copper, brass, and other metal components in the fabrication of chiller assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper assembly.
• Set up, adjust, and operate brazing torches and related equipment to achieve strong, leak-proof joints.
• Inspect joints for quality assurance, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
• Work closely with welders, assemblers, and quality control teams to maintain production efficiency and accuracy.
• Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling of torches, gases, and other hazardous materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Identify and report any defects, material shortages, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

Required Education & Qualifications

• 1+ years of brazing/welding experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in using oxy-acetylene torches and other brazing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions (standing bending, kneeling, etc.) for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, including proper handling of gases and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Education Requirements:
• High school diploma of GED required; technical certification in brazing or welding preferred
