Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. This role sits within AWS Infrastructure Services and leads hands-on electrical and mechanical facilities troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical data center equipment in Hermiston, OR.

You will direct technicians, manage projects from conception to completion, and collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure safety, reliability, and uptime targets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• Technical training or degree in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues and oversee operation of critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot within SLA.
• Train and guide Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with Facility Manager on team culture.
• Create and deploy standard practices for Engineering Operations teams and vendors.
• Assist in building out new facilities and improving current facility efficiency.
• Work outside of normal hours for maintenance and emergencies.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders to optimize safety and performance.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by vendors and staff.
• Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports on facility operations.
