Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical infrastructure and help deliver 99.999% uptime. You will monitor electrical and mechanical systems, fire/life safety, and BAS/EPMS to ensure seamless operations.

The role involves troubleshooting, rack installs/decommissions, PM work, and change-management documentation. Expect on-site shifts up to 12 hours, possible on-call rotations, and travel between Oregon data centers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs; perform rack installs/decommissions.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Provide technical writing to support change management program.
• Manage daily work requests from conception to completion; act as site liaison for contractors.
• Support on-site work by vendors, ensure conformance with practices and local regulations.
• Roles may require travel between data centers and possible on-call rotations.
