Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a detail-oriented Data Center Chief Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team in Avondale, AZ. The role focuses on maintaining electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to achieve 99.999% uptime and exceptional service to internal teams.

Qualifications

3+ years of vendor management experience.
4+ years of data center or critical environment experience.
5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
5+ years of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) experience.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues across critical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, PDUs, chillers, etc.).
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures within SLAs and coordinate corrective actions.
Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with Facility Manager to set team culture.
Create and deploy standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendors.
