Job summary

TEKsystems in Austin, TX is seeking a Datacenter Tech for a long-term contract focused on data center build-out, installation, and in-rack cabling initially, with break/fix duties later. The role requires hands-on server troubleshooting, parts replacement, firmware updates, and network coordination.

The position is fully onsite with a competitive hourly pay, and benefits eligibility for eligible temporary roles.

Qualifications

• Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
• Open to installation and in-rack cabling for several months before break/fix DCOPS.
• Level 2 responsibilities include server troubleshooting, parts replacement, firmware updates, and IP configuration.
• Onsite coordination with network admins and DC/Lab teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot a variety of servers and isolate the problem.
• Order replacement parts and install them in servers and ship back the defective part to vendors.
• Update firmware on servers to ensure the latest version is installed.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Assist network admins with server/switch issues and cabling tasks.
• Temporarily rack and stack a server or switch for remote access and configuration.
• Support network admins and DC/Lab teams as needed.
• Assist with Level 1 responsibilities as necessary.
