TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Cable Technicians for a fully onsite role in Ashburn, VA. The position is contract-to-hire with a day shift, supporting installation and infrastructure builds in a large-scale data center environment.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in construction, telecom, electrical work, fiber/copper cabling, and are comfortable with basic hand/power tools. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential to meet tight project deadlines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, route, label, and dress fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Pull cable through overhead pathways, ladder racks, and underfloor systems.
• Assist with rack and cabinet installations.
• Support equipment staging and material movement throughout the facility.
• Read and follow cable routing plans and installation instructions.
• Maintain proper cable management and organization standards.
• Perform quality inspections of completed work.
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow all site safety requirements and PPE guidelines.
• Work closely with project teams to meet installation deadlines.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated Data Center Cable Technicians to support construction and infrastructure projects within a large-scale data center environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in construction, telecommunications, low voltage, electrical work, fiber installation, warehouse operations, or other hands‑on trades who are looking to build a long‑term career in the data center industry.

Technicians will assist with cable installation, infrastructure buildouts, equipment staging, and supporting ongoing expansion projects within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in active construction and data center environments.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
