Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Area Construction Manager to lead Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction (DEC) teams across multiple regions. You will manage new builds, retrofits, and live-environment changes with a focus on schedule, budget, and safety, while traveling 50% or more.

You will mentor field teams, coordinate with cross-functional partners, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in construction and project planning of complex, mission critical projects.
• Experience in design and construction supply chain and processes.
• Experience with various contract delivery methodologies, legal considerations, IP, and commercial terms.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent degree.
• Experience in large scale construction management (excess of $500M/yr. construction spend).
• Experience in engineering, design, commissioning, and operations and ground up new build site development and construction as well as retrofit work in live environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee New Build, land ready and Construction Ready sites, and retrofit projects.
• Provide clear, concise communications to the Area Manager and broader organization when delivery of capacity will be impacted.
• Manage the financial health and KPI monitoring of projects.
• Lead site teams and develop Meta culture, empowering teams and driving collaboration.
• Support contract/change order negotiations and prepare for CCAM meetings; engage directly as needed.
• Review and advise on contracts and change orders above signing authority.
• Coordinate with other Area Construction Managers to align priorities and share lessons learned.
• Onboard new hires and assist recruitment decisions across Areas.
• Develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize processes.
• Provide fast feedback for continuous improvement.
