Job summary

ACS Consultancy Services in Downtown Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Data Center Analyst to monitor and maintain critical hardware and software across multiple environments.

You will open ServiceNow tickets, run scripted jobs on Windows, Linux, and AS/400, monitor temperatures and server utilization, and coordinate with IT facility managers and operations teams in an onsite, 24x7 setting.

Job Title: Data Center Analyst

Location: Downtown Brooklyn, NY (Onsite)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Ability to monitor critical equipment, systems, hardware, and software across multiple environments.
• Experience monitoring equipment and critical systems.
• Experience with AS/400 environments.
• Experience monitoring service deliverable status.
• Experience using ServiceNow.
• Experience working in IT operations within a 24x7 environment.
• Ability to monitor facility temperature alerts, CPU, memory, and server space utilization.
• Ability to monitor APC NetBotz devices, HP servers, Oracle databases, SQL databases, and hardware operations.
• Ability to open tickets as needed and assist System Administrators with issue resolution.
• Ability to execute pre-written scripted jobs across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
• Strong knowledge of basic Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communication via phone and email.
• Ability to work overnight and weekend shifts in an on-site environment.
• Ability to work effectively with IT facility managers and operations teams.

• Experience with the selection, installation, and upgrading of field hardware.
• Experience configuring and optimizing alarms and alerts.
• Ability to identify and eliminate nuisance alarms or "white noise" while ensuring critical alerts are routed to the appropriate parties.
• Experience developing or assisting with tools to monitor the health of critical systems.
• Experience working with SQL and Oracle databases.
• Experience supporting hardware operations across a broad range of platforms.
• Experience working with APC NetBotz devices and HP servers.
• Experience supporting IT facilities and field locations.
• Ability to travel to locations throughout the MTA network and work at field locations for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor critical hardware and software systems across MTA agencies.
• Monitor facility temperature alerts, CPU utilization, memory utilization, server space utilization, APC NetBotz devices, Oracle databases, and hardware.
• Monitor equipment and service deliverable status and identify issues requiring attention.
• Open ServiceNow tickets as needed and assist System Administrators with troubleshooting and resolution.
• Execute pre-written scripted jobs across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
• Support 24x7 IT operations and critical system monitoring activities.
• Configure and optimize alarms and alerts generated by various systems throughout MTA agencies.
• Identify and eliminate nuisance alarms while ensuring critical alerts are delivered to the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor temperature alerts, HP servers, APC NetBotz devices, SQL databases, Oracle databases, and other critical systems.
• Assist in developing new tools and processes for monitoring the health and availability of critical systems.
• Assist with hardware operations across a broad range of platforms.
• Support the selection, installation, and upgrading of field hardware as needed.
• Coordinate with IT facility managers across the region.
• Travel to MTA locations and provide support at field locations when required.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, System Administrators, facility managers, and other stakeholders.
• Perform all duties in an on-site, in-person environment.
