Description

MTA IT seeks qualified candidates to assist with the configuration and optimization of alarms and alerts that come from various systems throughout our agencies. The goal to eliminate the “white noise” of nuisance alarms and assure that needed alerts are send to the correct parties.

Temperature alerts, HP servers, APC Netbotz devices will be the core mission. Familiarity with Building Management Systems is a plus. Familiarity with Solar Winds is also a plus. Candidates with experience in the selection, install and upgrade of field hardware are encouraged to apply.

As part of a 24x7 team, the ideal candidate will come with experience in operations, and be able to assist our team in the development of new tools to monitor the health of critical systems including SQL and Oracle databases, and hardware operations on a broad range of platforms.

This is an in-person job. Work locations will vary, with the job based in downtown Brooklyn. Travel to any location within the MTA network, and working at field locations for extended periods may be required. Candidate will be working with IT facility managers across the region.

Strong knowledge of basic MS Office tools is required. Work shifts will be Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
