Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Ashburn, VA, is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain and troubleshoot critical data center infrastructure, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, and cooling systems.

You will work on front-line maintenance and be part of a team that keeps the cloud running around the clock. This role requires the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, lift up to 39 pounds, and collaborate with contractors on site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Capable of rack installs and decommissioning per procedures.
• Proficient in PM and repair of critical data center equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems for 24/7 reliability.
• Watch BMS and EPMS; respond to alarms and events.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level issues within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning on site.
• Support on-site contractors and manage work per procedures.
