What You Will Do

  • Connect datasets to tell a compelling story and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Establish a single source of validated, analytics-ready, data in a scalable data architecture that enables seamless access to Sales, Marketing, and Market data.
  • Assist the team in identifying and overcoming technical challenges, providing solutions to remove blockers and improve team efficiency.
  • Support the enablement and standardization of commercial analytics capabilities.
  • Manage data/analytics project scope, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in business intelligence, data analytics, and AI/ML and introduce cutting-edge ideas and innovations into the team's practices

Day-to-day responsibilities and estimated time share of this role primarily entail:

DIAGNOSTIC ANALYTICS & ADHOC REPORTING (35%)

  • Receive, interpret, and complete ad hoc data requests and analyses in support of Executive leadership and Marketing, Sales, and Finance teams
  • Create visually appealing PowerPoint presentations and/or Excel reports with clear, interpretable, actionable insights for executive presentations
  • Build and maintain complex Excel models to track, measure, and/or forecast business performance
  • Establish robust data validation processes to ensure all reports and analyses have high levels of precision and accuracy
  • Manage recurring updates of reports and determine when automation can/should be leveraged

MARKETING & CUSTOMER INSIGHTS (35%)

  • Analyze Sales/Marketing datasets and present strategic recommendations to the Commercial leadership teams.
  • Work across our Marketing tech stack, including but not limited to Hubspot, 6sense, and Google Analytics, to make sure the Marketing stakeholders have access to the information and feedback they need to evaluate and optimize Marketing strategies.
  • Establish mechanisms for evaluating marketing performance and digital engagement of our customers, enabling data-driven decision making for future sales/marketing tactics.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the Marketing team to create measurement plans for the team’s initiatives and build reliable reporting to measure the success of and learnings from those initiatives.

DATA ACCESSIBILITY (15%)

  • Proactively identify gaps or limitations in current reporting and analytics capabilities and define methods to improve the overall accessibility of data from our Marketing/Sales systems.
  • Leverage Marketing/CRM documentation to identify relevant API endpoints and define requirements for the data engineering team to ingest Marketing/Sales data into AWS.
  • Provide input to the data engineering team on data model and data transformation requirements to provide analytics-ready data to the business.

DATA/SYSTEMS RELIABILITY & OPTIMIZATION (15%)

  • Establish testing, validation, and monitoring procedures to maintain high levels of data integrity and ensure reliable and accurate reporting and analytics. This includes establishing data quality checks ranging from the data warehouse (AWS Redshift) to the end user reports.
  • Establish standards and guidelines for code reviews, version control, and reporting UAT.
  • Lead keyword management and updates across the Marketing tech stack, driving consistency across all platforms.
  • Define a structure and process for creating and managing our customer/account lists and segments across the Marketing tech stack, driving consistency across all platforms.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field i.e. Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in business analytics, business intelligence, market analysis, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in R, Python, and/or SQL for data wrangling, transformation, visualization, and/or basic statistical modeling
  • 2+ years of experience creating reports in Business Intelligence tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to connect the dots between complex data/analytics and business strategies
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create executive-level professional presentations
  • Proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, modeling, etc.)
  • Strong technical curiosity and a passion for problem solving
  • Strong ability to question and scrutinize the underlying data to uncover the “real” story and/or insights that can translate to business opportunities
  • High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability across projects
  • Ability to mentor/lead other analysts

ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative field i.e. Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working with Marketing/CRM data (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo), preferred
