Reporting To

District Sales Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

The Area Sales Manager, Channel, will manage the Great Lakes territory, leading our channel-focused sales team. You will aim to achieve volume growth, maintain price/quality/margin, control costs, and ensure customer satisfaction, while increasing market share across the territory. The focus will be on stock business, small projects, and residential growth. You will provide leadership to the Channel team and develop strategies and programs to meet local coverage targets, exceeding partner and customer expectations. Special emphasis will be on residential growth and the successful launch and adoption of new products.

This is a remote position; ideal candidates will reside near Columbus, OH; Cincinnati, OH; or Cleveland, OH. The role contributes to ABB's Electrification Smart Buildings division in the U.S.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the liaison between local channel sales, regional leadership, and national account managers, aligning priorities and supporting escalation decisions.
  • Develop training plans for all channel employees, including technical and professional development.
  • Plan and execute customer surveys, acting on feedback to improve satisfaction.
  • Manage key local accounts, including negotiations and relationship management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or a technical field (preferred).
  • At least 8 years of sales experience, with specific channel sales experience required.
  • Experience in the electrical market is highly preferred.
  • Proven success managing sales of over $25M.
  • Experience managing direct sales teams, internal and external.
  • Willingness to travel within IN, MI, OH, PA, WV.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
