Job summary

Eversource is seeking a GIS data analyst to execute analytics for the electrical system, using ArcGIS, FME, SQL and Python. You will prepare maps, dashboards and reports, and integrate diverse data sources to support end-user requirements.

The role emphasizes data quality, tool design, and clear communication with non-technical users. Travel across MA/CT/NH and emergency restoration readiness are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in CS, Engineering or related quantitative field required.
• MS in CS or equivalent preferred.
• Extensive hands-on ArcGIS Desktop, Model Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Insights, Portal, StoryMaps and Power BI experience.
• Strong knowledge with FME, SQL, Python and REST.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Three+ years of experience with ESRI.
• Experience in spatial/relational data analysis, data management and analytics in the electrical utility industry.

Responsibilities

• Support GIS-related analytics for the electrical system data.
• Perform spatial/relational analyses using ArcGIS and databases.
• Create documents, data reports, dashboards and maps.
• Combine internal and external data for complex analytics.
• Define problems, objectives and data needs; help design collection tools/reports.
• Evaluate data against end-user requirements.
• Review and consolidate data from multiple sources using FME, SQL, Python, REST.
• Explain complex technical issues to non-technical GIS users.
• Support data maintenance and data quality efforts.
• Support GIS reporting and project-benefit metrics.
• Prioritize tasks and identify problems, causes and solutions.
• Assist emergency restoration efforts across the service territory.

Job description

• Support execution of the Company's GIS-related data analytics for its electrical system
• Perform complex spatial and relational data analysis using ArcGIS, related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other software
• Prepare documents, data reports, GIS dashboards, and maps
• Combine Eversource data with non-Eversource data for complex analytics
• Define problems, clarify objectives, determine spatial data needs, and assist in designing collection tools and reports
• Evaluate spatial and non-spatial data and reports against end-user requirements
• Review, analyze, and consolidate data from disparate sources using FME, SQL, Python, and REST
• Communicate complex technical issues to non-technical GIS users
• Support data maintenance and data quality efforts
• Support internal and external GIS tracking and reporting requirements, including project-benefit metrics
• Prioritize assignments and systematically identify problems, causes, relevant information, and solutions
• Support Emergency Restoration efforts throughout the Eversource service territory

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field required
• MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
• Extensive hands-on experience with ArcGIS Desktop, Model Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Insights, Portal, StoryMaps, Power BI and other online mapping solutions or current equivalent
• Strong demonstrated knowledge with FME, SQL, Python, and REST
• Demonstrated competency and proficiency in oral and written communications
• Three+ years of experience with ESRI
• Experience in spatial and relational data analysis, data management, analytical modeling, statistics, and mobile opportunities such as remote sensing and GPS within the electrical utility industry
• Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
