Job summary

Cavalry Construction & Restoration is hiring a Mitigation Inspector in Houston, TX for a full-time, in-person role overseeing the inspection process from dispatch to Work Authorization. You will communicate with homeowners and partners to ensure accurate scoping and a smooth handoff into production.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in restoration/inspection, Xactimate experience, strong communication, and a customer-first mindset, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in restoration, construction, or inspection environments.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience using Xactimate for estimates and scopes.
• 1–2 years of property insurance claims experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using CRM software to manage leads and interactions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience managing insurance restoration projects and writing detailed scopes.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of mitigation inspections up to obtaining a signed Work Authorization.
• Document all communication, site findings, photos, notes, and job progress in Dash.
• Perform in-person damage assessments and secure jobs with homeowners or responsible parties.
• Participate in weekly strategy meetings with stakeholders to review secured and non-secured jobs.
• Keep all stakeholders informed of job status from initial visit through authorization.
• Organize all job documentation in the CRM.
• Utilize moisture meters, thermal imaging, and other tools to document site conditions.
• Provide complete scope details to the File Coordinator and stay available for clarification.
• Process required regulatory sampling (asbestos, lead, etc.).
• Complete daily tasks and update each job before end of day.
• Wear PPE and comply with safety policies and OSHA regulations.
