Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous utility experience required.
• Knowledge of damage prevention practices, 811 processes, and safe excavation standards.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, prints, and records.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field, problem-solve, and adapt to changing conditions on job sites.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards.

Responsibilities

• Visit active job sites to monitor excavation activities and ensure safe digging practices.
• Identify and mark underground utility lines using industry-standard equipment.
• Verify accuracy of utility markings and perform remark requests as needed.
• Investigate conflicts, discrepancies, and damage prevention concerns in the field.
• Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, excavators and utility crews to promote safe digging.
• Maintain records of locate activities, site visits, and field observations using company software.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to meet company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to emergency locate requests and time-sensitive field situations.
• Maintain locating equipment and company vehicle in proper working condition.
• Collaborate with team members to improve safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned while supporting safety culture.
