Job summary

Flexcar is seeking a Damage Writer in El Monte, CA or San Jose to own the accuracy of vehicle damage estimates. You will underwrite repair and reconditioning costs and review automated estimates to ensure consistency and defensibility.

You will help build Flexcar’s standard cost schedule and work with fleet, reconditioning, and operations teams to keep estimates aligned with real repair costs. Prior experience as a damage appraiser or auto estimator is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a damage appraiser or auto estimator.
• Ability to review automated output critically and defend estimates.
• Strong attention to detail and data comfort.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite damage estimates based on vehicle condition and repair scope.
• Review estimates from automated damage-estimation process for accuracy and completeness.
• Help design and maintain standard cost schedule for vehicle damage by type, severity, and model year.
• Partner with fleet, reconditioning, and operations teams to align estimates with real costs.
