The Boise, ID office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing geotechnical team. You will develop field and analytical skills, learn from senior engineers, and contribute to real-world projects with supervision.

This role offers hands-on experience in design calculations, reports, and construction documents, with opportunities for professional growth. Applicants should have a Civil Engineering degree, a willingness to travel, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement.
• Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several months away from the office.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.]
