Job summary

Edison Smart is seeking a Technical Support Specialist for its Dallas, TX office to provide hands-on support for building controls and automation. You will assist contractors, building owners and end users, diagnose Niagara Framework issues, and help with testing, configuration and commissioning of controllers and gateways.

Ideal candidates have BAS/BMS knowledge, familiarity with BACnet/IP and IP networking, and can document solutions for the knowledge base.

Qualifications

• Hands-on technical support for contractors, integrators, owners and end users.
• Experience with Niagara Framework and building controls systems.
• Knowledge of BACnet/IP, RS-485, IP networking and controller programming.
• Ability to diagnose wiring and communications issues in field devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone, email and ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot Niagara Framework issues including stations, drivers, points, histories and upgrades.
• Diagnose field wiring and communications issues (RS-485, shielding, grounding, terminations).
• Troubleshoot controls networking (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, BACnet/IP).
• Bench-test, configure, stage and commission controllers and gateways.
• Reproduce customer issues in the lab and identify root causes.
• Escalate product defects to manufacturers and manage resolution.
• Develop technical documentation and knowledge-base solutions.
• Support sales with product selection and compatibility questions.
• Assist with customer training, demonstrations and occasional onsite troubleshooting.
