Join to apply for the Dairy Sales Specialist role at Land O'Lakes, Inc.

We are hiring a sales specialist who will focus on animal nutrition sales within the New York Dairy market area. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with Purina team members and dairy producers to increase feed sales, aiming to improve profitability using Adult Cow and Young Animal Feed Programs. The position also involves expanding market share through proprietary technologies and animal nutrition expertise.

This is a remote (virtual) field-based sales position, requiring the candidate to be located within the Western or Finger Lakes region of New York.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Conduct targeted prospect calls to develop new and existing business; actively call on customers in the field.
  2. Analyze sales results to identify growth opportunities and address underperforming areas.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement sales growth strategies incorporating Purina feed programs and technologies.
  4. Build strong relationships with dairy customers and prospects, focusing on their needs and promoting Purina’s programs and services.
  5. Develop training programs tailored to farm needs.
  6. Work with the NY team and sales leadership to create annual business growth and strategic plans.
  7. Maintain accurate client records and activity reports in CRM systems.
Required Experience and Education
  1. Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related agriculture field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in animal science/nutrition with a proven sales record.
  3. Solid understanding of the dairy industry, management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
  4. Basic command of animal nutrition and management recommendations.
  5. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  6. Willingness to travel up to 10% overnight.
  7. Strong relationship-building, public speaking, and leadership skills.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $85,000 - $115,000

Incentive target: $40,000 annually

Eligible for vehicle reimbursement program.
