The Oncology Sales Specialist will handle delivering sales performance and promoting product(s) within the oncology, hematology or rare disease portfolio of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and a pioneer in oncology. You will have a deep level of commercial insight, be curious, a lifelong learner, lead among peers, proactively serve customer needs, and adopt digital tools to improve sales opportunities in competitive markets.

  • Deliver clear and compelling messages to customers, handle objections, and close calls with actionable commitments to inspire behavioral change.
  • Understand territory market landscape, competitors, segments, product, clinical data, and anticipate environmental changes to optimize performance.
  • Develop and execute call plans to achieve goals, improve access, and promote a sophisticated product portfolio.
  • Understand the local healthcare landscape, EMRs, pathways, and claims processing; develop account plans accordingly.
  • Use sales data reporting tools to identify trends and leverage customer insights for growth opportunities.
  • Utilize social media platforms to capture insights and enhance customer experience.
  • Transition between non-digital and digital settings, using non-personal tools to customize customer interactions.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or similar sales roles within the last 5 years.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, communicate clinical information, perform consistently at high levels, and navigate large accounts.
  • Self-starter with analytical skills, ethical leadership, and adherence to compliance policies.
  • Reside within the territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; able to travel 60-80% with a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, account management, and product launches.
  • Knowledge of patient services, market access, reimbursement, and medical calling on HCPs.
Position Levels
  • Oncology Representative: 2+ years’ experience
  • Oncology Specialist: 4+ years’ experience
  • Senior Oncology Specialist: 6+ years’ experience
