Job summary

AMPI is seeking a production-focused leader to manage and mentor plant operations in Blair. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient production across manufacturing lines.

You will work closely with maintenance, quality, and HR to uphold company policies and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing with supervisory experience and strong knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs and OSHA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field is required or commonly expected.
• 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, OSHA and loss control programs highly desirable.
• Technical knowledge of fluid milk, cheese and drying operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor production operations and staff.
• Collaborate with maintenance to address equipment issues and optimize efficiency.
• Ensure daily/monthly goals are met and production plans are executed.
• Establish training procedures and cross-training to improve job knowledge.
• Provide daily updates to department managers and maintain safety culture.
• Support Plant Superintendent with staffing, quality, and efficiency goals.
• Act as backup for Plant Superintendent as needed.
• Enforce GMP, food safety, and quality policies across the plant.
