Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering strategy, supervise teams, and advance safety and quality across Midwest dairy plants.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, capital projects, and cost-effective process improvements. The ideal candidate has a technical engineering degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years supervisory leadership, and a strong background in dairy operations and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or 10+ years of progressive technical experience in manufacturing operations.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a dairy operations environment (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic accounting knowledge (preferred).
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, OSHA, and loss control programs (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• Safety & Quality Responsibility: report safety, food safety, or quality concerns.
• Operational Engineering Support: optimize plant operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Safety Leadership: promote a safety-first culture and address hazards.
• Cost Management: manage engineering budgets and identify cost-saving improvements.
• Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: work with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation teams.
• Project Management: lead engineering and capital projects with clear plans and timelines.
• Quality Improvement: drive process and equipment improvements to enhance product quality.
• Controls and Automation: lead onsite controls technicians and align with corporate standards.
